The National Center for Learning Disabilities created this guide to help parents understand the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).  It provides parents with a detailed look at how the federal law works so that they can become informed participants in their students' education. It also highlights the new sections of IDEA that Congress last updated in 2004.  It is available in PDF form on this website.
